Abstract

As the penetration of wind energy and the size of modern wind farms continue to increase, the voltage control at a specified remote location becomes increasingly important for stable and reliable operation of electric grid. This paper presents a new voltage control scheme that is based on the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) controller formulated as a linear matrix inequality (LMI) problem.
