Abstract
The article presents the experience of an analytical review of materials that appeared on the pages of the newspaper Novoe Vremya which related to literature. The first part of the article presents a wide range of assessments of the Novoe Vremya and the personality of A.S. Suvorin in the materials of his personal correspondence, memoirs of contemporaries, as well as in the later scientific literature.
