Abstract

The advantages of high efficiency and reliability, as well as weight and loss benefits, make matrix converters an attractive option for AC/AC power conversion. This paper reviews the existing AC/AC converter solutions in mining industry and provides a detailed discussion of the main features and techniques associated with matrix converters.
