The authors propose an original classification of surfaces formation methods. A simple set of shaping motions corresponds to each method taking into account the configuration of the cutting edge of the tool. Abstract

The article discusses the directions of development of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and the problems that arise. The authors consider the most promising direction of the creation of information systems for the automatic create of technological processes to be based on the CAD model.
