Abstract

This contribution is focused on designing a system according to the EEMUA standards and using knowledge obtained during the control system operation. It is important for process experts to build into and maintain knowledge and intelligence in the alarm system over time. A good alarm system requires that a lot of process knowledge is built into the system to optimize the alarm generation, suppression and presentation based on process expertise and operational experience.
