Abstract

Since the Arab Spring in 2011, UAE's independent and active diplomatic moves have stood out. The changes come amid structural changes caused by the U.S.-China competition and growing instability in the Middle East yielded by regional conflicts, which clearly indicate that the UAE no longer relies on cooperation with Western or Arab countries and intends to take the lead in diplomacy and build its own line. This change in diplomatic movement is due to the growth of national power and the UAE's desire to pursue interests according to changes in the security environment. It is a strategic choice to expand its influence in the region as a 'revisionist'. The UAE, which has entered the international community in earnest, is making good use of its national power and geopolitical advantages as a pivot state. It is transforming into an active and influential country by breaking down the oil-dependent economy, diversifying security cooperation countries and fields, and strengthening its soft-power.
