Abstract

In recent years, there has been an increased focus on event-driven communication, and with it a paradigm shift from traditional client/server thinking towards information centric networks, where named content is in focus. It can be argued that information centric networking is already possible with existing infrastructure, since in its simplest form it can be seen as an analogy to current publish/subscribe systems. There exists many protocols and frameworks which implement this message exchange pattern, and in more complex systems, such as military systems and larger scale Internet-of-Things deployments it is not uncommon for multiple such protocols to be in use. In this paper, we present our implementation of a multi-protocol publish/subscribe brokering solution, which makes several relevant and much used publish/subscribe industry standards interoperable through bridging.
