Abstract

A multilayered modified Otto configuration assisting graphene symmetric mode resonance is analytically explored to achieve low threshold optical bistability of about 2.5×105 V/m at 1 THz frequency. Through the proposed configuration, the effect of layer-number of spatially separated graphene sheets on the phenomenon of hysteresis is also investigated and has been found that the graphene symmetric mode resonance can be optimized through the variation of graphene layer-number, which will lead to minimal demand of input power for realizing the optical bistability using the suggested model. The proposed system offers promising applications in the realm of all-optical integrated devices.
