Abstract

This paper presents a conceptual model of a system for controlling the process of egg-hatching in incubators, which is based on the Sufficiently general control theory and its concept for sustainability in terms of predictability. The key factors influencing the predictability of the egg-hatching processes are identified, and using the subjective ones are selected the main functionalities that an incubator control system should provide. Next, is presented the conceptual model of an incubator control system with all its subsystems and regimes of operation. The study also presents the algorithm of the system divided into two parallel processes. The developed model offers a new conceptual approach for increasing the sustainability of the process, which increases the chances for efficient control of the process and reduces the chances for complete loss of control. Furthermore, the study gives footprints about other important processes that should be monitored, even though they are controlled by other subjects.
