Abstract
A novel low power wide division ratio range programmable divider is presented. It employs the division ratio control-bits (DRCBs) to shut off the certain latches and/or ANDlatches on occasion, which then have no contribution to the operation of the entire divider. The proposed divider allows a power reduction up to 56.25% when the division ratio is 4. The average power reduction is over 18.77%.
