Gender Inclusion and Provision of Security Services by The Uganda Police Force

Abstract

The paper examined the association of gender inclusion and provision of services by the Uganda Police Force. The paper used the mixed methods research approach for data collection and analysis. A sample of 225 participants was used from a population of 528 from the different departments, with a response rate of 91.1%. The paper used survey, interview, focus group discussion, observation, and document review methods of research. Respondents were selected using purposive, simple random and quota sampling techniques. The study found a positive relationship between gender inclusion and effective provision of services in Uganda Police Force. The paper concluded that gender equality in Uganda police force, has not been fully effective due to challenges and reluctance in the implementation of the policy which poses a big gap that needs to be filled in order to have balanced service provision by the Uganda police force.
