Cartographic Support for Planning, Construction, and Use of the Baykal-Amur Railroad Route

Abstract

A Russian geographer describes the cartographic products developed to support the planning, construction, and use of the Baykal-Amur Mainline (BAM) railroad route. The documents include atlases published for the various regions (oblasts) along the route, multisheet general reference maps of the southern part of East Siberia, a series of maps of the agroclimatic resources of the southern part of Eastern Siberia, and a group of general maps of Asiatic Russia. The main focus is on the Atlas of Amur Oblast, developed under the author's guidance and published in 1981.
