Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain condition. Mood disorders, sleep problems, fatigue, and temporomandibular disorders can accompany fibromyalgia. Careful anamnesis and a detailed physical examination are essential to rule out mimicking conditions. Treatment of fibromyalgia in elderly requires particular attention, as well. Older individuals are prone to experiencing adverse effects of certain drugs due to age-related alterations in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. The aim of this article was to review fibromyalgia in older adults; including its features, differential diagnosis, and management.
