Abstract
ABSTRACT The major intent of this qualitative study is to describe the Future Time Perspective (FTP) and emotional experiences of a select group of Filipino passengers (n=15) when encountering delayed international flights. Data need for the study was gathered through a semi structured interview and word cloud sheet Phenomenological reduction of the narratives was carried out via horizontal and vertical analyses and were validated via member checking procedure. Interestingly, an interesting conceptualization labelled as The Passengers’ Clock of Future Time Perspective consists of (a) Cycle of Planning: Moving with Time and (b) Cycle of Worrying: Moving against Time was emerged. Interestingly, the said model describes the passenger’s view of time and their emotional experiences when encountering delayed international flights. Findings of this study can benefit the airline industry in developing service strategies when it comes to handling passengers experiencing delays in their international flights.
