Abstract
In this paper, a brief overview of the nanostructures produced by droplet epitaxy is given. An outlook to the technology of quantum dots, quantum rings and nanoholes is taken. Thereafter a summary of our investigations on the relationships between the technological and geometrical parameters of these nanostructures is presented. A database is compiled from relatively large amount of literature and has been processed using several methods. By analyzing the data and building regressive models, our intention was to promote the designability of nanostructures. Finally, a short overview of the application possibilities of these nanostructures is given.
