Abstract

High connectivity, Low power, Low cost Advanced Metering Infrastructure (HiLL AMI) targets connectivity difficulty at the last mile with smart meters and achieves 99-percent-plus connectivity at low cost and consumes low power. There is a last-mile networking problem at the user end, the small physical segment starting from user smart meter to the point where the meter gets hooked up to the utility's main communications network.
