Abstract
The socio-economic and political organizations of Central Anatolian socities of Bronze Age include limited studies over some different perpectives. Our limited information about the social and economic life of the period comes mostly from the archaeological data. One of the most significant structure which has been discovered in archaeological areas, is silo. Since the earliest periods, people have stored the surplus products that they had obtained from gathering and agricultural activities, in silos they had built in different size and shapes. This is why the size and shapes of silos and the botanical remains they have had, are essential for comprehending the socio-economic and cultural life. Although the archaeological data show that an organized activity of grain storage has been actualized since the Early Bronze Age, information about storage methods, producing techniques, typological features and isolation methods are very limited. The subject details about the storage units provide some important inferences about the designs of storage structures of the period and the socio-economic organizations of people who had created the subject designs. During this paper, the systems of grain storage of Bronze Ages in Central Anatolia have been studied within the consideration of the archaeological data in the light of the key settlements, and the relation of the subject system with the social development processes has been evaluated.
