Cognitive Psychology in Artificial Intelligence —Three Levels of Conscious Processing

Abstract

In this paper, from the perspective of the intersection of cognitive psychology and the field of artificial intelligence, we present the three levels of conscious processing proposed by Dehaene et al. They are unconscious processing (C0), consciousness in the first sense (C1)-global availability, consciousness in the second sense (C2)-self-monitoring. The paper also cites an empirical evidence for the intersection of the two fields and summarizes some researchers’ questions about whether the two can intersect.
