The variety testing network of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region was established in 1946 and its activities were coordinated by the Inspectorate of the State Commission for Variety Testing of Agricultural Crops in the Ivano-Frankivsk Region. In 2002, the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Centre for Expertise in Plant Varieties was established, which in 2012 became a branch of the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination. Conclusions. Abstract

Purpose. To study the historical origins and stages of the formation of the variety testing network of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region, where one of the branches of the Ukrainian Institute for Plant Variety Examination is located. Methods.
