Abstract
The article is devoted to the main directions of public diplomacy to form the external image of the Russian Federation in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The author determines the ways of “soft power’s” increasing potential, narrates a brief history of bilateral diplomatic relations, describes existing joint projects in different fields, assesses their effectiveness and puts forward some proposals that are necessary to maintain a positive image of Russia abroad.
