Abstract

The entire world is in the middle of a maelstrom that requires the planning and operation of defense strategies to manage conflicts and lead to a situation of stability and construction of a peaceful state. Assigning specific roles and effectively and efficiently coordinating lines of defense makes a difference. The same happens in the case of the health-disease process. The human body has a very effective defense system. It can be described as an elite fighting group. The endothelium is a highly selective barrier and a metabolically very active organ that, under healthy conditions, favors the optimal functioning of other tissues and, consequently, organs and systems.
