It exhibits a range of beneficial properties including anticoagulant, antiseptic, insecticidal, antimicrobial, anticancer, and antioxidant effects. This herb is widely recognized for its therapeutic potential. Native to tropical America, Tridax procumbeans is found in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, including various parts of India. Referred to as \"coat button\" in English and locally known as \"Ghamara,\" it is also commonly referred to as \"bhringraj\" and used in Ayurvedic medicine for liver diseases and hair problems. The plant's different components contain a variety of phytochemical compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, carotenoids, saponins, fumaric acid, and tannins. These compounds make it a valuable source for novel drug development.
