The sample of the research consists of students who study at Pamukkale University, Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts, Division of Music Education in the 2022-2023 academic year. The sample in the study was selected by using the typical case sampling method. “Scale of Perception of Competence in Accompaniment with Piano” was used. The data collected in the research were typed into the \"SPSS 28.0\" program, and the required statistical analysis were carried out. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the average score obtained from the answers given by the music teacher candidates to the scale was below the medium level. Additionally, no significant difference was found between the mean scores according to gender and age group variables. Abstract

The study aims to unearth the level of the competency of music teacher candidates’ accompany with the piano and whether these competencies make a difference in terms of various variables.
