The use of an organomineral fertilizer system, regardless of the type of crop rotation and methods of basic tillage, ensured the creation of an optimal for sugar beet plants, a slightly acidic reaction of the soil solution of 5.66 – 5.90 units. The difference between the value of the cation exchange capacity in the upper layers compared to the 20–30 cm layer was 4.7 – 5.4 meq/100 g of soil. Conclusions. The use of mineral fertilizers made it possible to increase the absorption capacity of the soil by 3–4 mg-eq.
