Abstract

Intestinal homeostasis is achieved by the balance among intestinal epithelium, immune cells, and gut microbiota. Gasdermins (GSDMs), a family of membrane pore forming proteins, can trigger rapid inflammatory cell death in the gut, mainly pyroptosis and NETosis.
