Abstract
The Royal Meteorological Society teamed up with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to host an online meeting (16 November 2023) on the links between weather and safety at our coastal regions. The meeting reviewed the ways in which weather, including extremes, can contribute to mishaps and deaths, and how bad outcomes can be reduced or avoided. It also considered how climate change might affect coastal risks and the ability to respond to these.

The aim of Weather is to act as a bridge between the interests of those having a professional and a general interest in the weather, as well as between meteorologists and others working in related sciences such as climatology, hydrology and geography.
Articles and regular features are written for a wide range of readers, from professional meteorologists to amateur weather observers. Weather Log is a summary of the weather of each month by means of meteorological data and weather maps.
