More New York Convention: U.S. Court Interpretations On Jurisdiction and Venue for Actions and Proceedings

Abstract

Last month, the author examined U.S. judicial interpretations of primary and secondary jurisdiction considerations under the New York Convention and its U.S. enabling statute, the Federal Arbitration Act's Chapter 2, with respect to awards issued in international arbitrations. In this month's conclusion, the focus is on the effects of the laws on jurisdiction and venue over actions and proceedings falling under the Convention.
