Abstract

the present work consists of a textual reproduction of the interview conducted as part of the doctoral research titled “The Legal Protection of the Internal Market and its Relationship with Competition Regulation,” defended within the Postgraduate Program in Law at the University of São Paulo (FD-USP). The research was carried out in the Department of Economic and Financial Law, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Gilberto Bercovici. The interview aimed to explore details of the 1987-1988 Constituent Assembly, particularly concerning the conception of Article 219 in the current constitutional text. To achieve this, the testimony of Antonio Octaviano, the president of the National Federation of Engineers at the time of the Constituent Assembly, was obtained.
