Our empirical results are based on data from the Panel Study of Entrepreneurial Dynamics (PSED II) and improve our understanding of the drivers of new firm creation and their underlying mechanisms. Abstract

The resource-based view, signaling, and behavioral perspectives focus on different theoretical mechanisms through which human capital and the behavioral characteristics of nascent entrepreneurs, in combination with insider and outsider financing, may influence the emergence of new ventures. IEMJ will publish original papers which contribute to the advancement of the field of entrepreneurship and the interface between management and entrepreneurship, as well as articles on business corporate strategy and government economic policy. On occasions, the journal will also feature case studies of successful firms or other cases having important practical implications. The journal places great emphasis on the quality of the papers it publishes.
