Uncertainties on the mechanical behaviour of bronze sheets: influence on the failure in bending

The initial yield stress and the tensile strength are higher for one material, while the maximum equivalent plastic strain at rupture, determined through a hybrid experimental-numerical approach, is lower. And a significant difference in the transverse anisotropy coefficient is evidenced. A 3D parametric finite element model of the forming stage is developed to investigate the role of some mechanical properties and process parameters on the formability limit in bending. The range of the parameter values comes from the experimental data. All materials (metals, ceramics, polymers, composites, glass, wood, fibre reinforced materials, materials in food processing, biomaterials, nano-materials, shape memory alloys etc.) and approaches (micro-macro modelling, thermo-mechanical modelling, numerical simulation including new and advanced numerical strategies, experimental analysis, inverse analysis, model identification, optimization, design and control of forming tools and machines, wear and friction, mechanical behavior and formability of materials etc.) are concerned.
