The questionnaire leveraged a 5-point Likert scale, from \"strongly disagree\" to \"strongly agree.\" Additionally, in-depth interviews were conducted with a selected group of 20 students enrolled in an essay writing course. Established methodologies were employed to analyze the responses to the questionnaire items. The results highlighted the positive impact of the online first year composition course on students' academic achievements. The study also revealed specific impediments and constraints inherent in the virtual learning environment.
