Abstract

Laboratory equipment based on the Moiré deflectometry method have been recently introduced for atmospheric turbulence measurements. One of the advantages of this method is its simple and inexpensive implementation. This paper introduced a device based on this method to measure the Fried parameter \({r}_{0}\) and the refractive index structure constant of the atmosphere \({\it C}_{{\it n}}^{2}\). These parameters are a measure of the atmospheric turbulence intensity. The device is easily portable and its settings are very simple.
