The bacteria SERS biosensor has a good linear relationship ranging from 10 to 10<sup>7</sup> CFU mL<sup>-1</sup> with high sensitivity low to 5 CFU mL<sup>-1</sup>, and shows excellent specificity, uniformity, and repeatability on S. aureus identification and enumeration, which can distinguish S. aureus from other bacteria. However, applying official validation or robustness studies to a routine method or technique does not necessarily constitute novelty. Proper statistical treatment of the data should be provided. Relevant literature should be cited, including related publications by the authors, and authors should discuss how their proposed methodology compares with previously reported methods.
