The vertical displacement, horizontal displacement, and stress distribution in the soil were studied. The tensile stress, friction, and contact force of the IEI geocell strips were also investigated. The IEI geocell reinforcement layer was found to reduce the horizontal and vertical displacements. The confinement of the IEI geocell is mainly attributable to friction between the infill material and the IEI geocell wall. Abstract
