Abstract

Mosquitoes obtain large amounts of blood from hosts in a short period of time. To efficiently obtain high-quality blood without being noticed by the host, mosquitoes sense external factors such as the taste of the host blood and the surrounding environment, and integrate these signals with their own internal information to determine whether to initiate blood feeding and how long to continue feeding.
