Subsequently, we discuss the treatment strategies for toxin- and substance-related AKI caused by Glafenin, antimicrobial agents, lithium, contrast media, snake venom, herbicides, ethylene glycol, synthetic cannabinoids, cocaine, heroin, and amphetamines. Abstract
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a debilitating, multi-etiological disease that is commonly seen in clinical practice and in the emergency department. In this review, we introduce the definition, symptoms, and causes of poisoning-related AKI; we also discuss its mechanisms, risk factors, and epidemiology, as well as elaborate on the relevant laboratory tests.
