In particular, the diverse range of valuable bioactive compounds isolated from microalgae are known to exhibit multiple properties, including anti-aging, antioxidant, whitening, moisturising, and photoprotection, which have contributed to their distinctive profile. In recent years, there has been an increasing effort around exploration of novel natural biologically active substances from microalgae. This trend is in part driven by the global progression towards a ‘greener’ lifestyle. Abstract

Microalgae are gaining considerable attention in the field of cosmeceuticals due to their unique profile. In particular, the diverse range of valuable bioactive compounds isolated from microalgae are known to exhibit multiple properties, including anti-aging, antioxidant, whitening, moisturising, and photoprotection, which have contributed to their distinctive profile.
