However, as the nickel content increases, the probability of unstable Ni<sup>3+</sup> being reduced to Ni<sup>2+</sup> also rises, which increases the likelihood of Li<sup>+</sup>/Ni<sup>2+</sup> cation mixing. This can negatively impact lithium diffusion and cycling stability.
