Abstract
Wine is a globally appreciated beverage with a remarkably complex chemical composition, including sugars, organic acids, minerals, aromatic compounds, and polyphenols that contribute to the diversity of flavors in wines. Furthermore, it is essential to consider the presence of contaminants such as pesticides, and biogenic amines, among others, which can compromise the safety and authenticity of the wine. Concern for the quality and safety of wines has led analytical chemists to develop advanced sample preparation methods, aligned with green chemistry criteria. The development of materials for the extraction of a wide range of organic compounds in wine is essential to advance the quality and efficiency of analyses, providing greater sensitivity, selectivity, and accuracy in the detection of target compounds. This review offers an updated and comprehensive overview of innovative materials and solid supports, highlighting their applicability and benefits in the analysis of organic compounds, including bioactive compounds and chemical contaminants in wine.
