Abstract
In this research, the sinewave weaving technique is used by the Cold Metal Transfer process for hard-facing the Inconel 718 over the Stainless Steel 304. A microstructural study exhibited columnar grains that were transformed into equiaxed grains. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) – Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) results confirm the element’s segregation and secondary phase’s formation. Outcomes of hardness, tensile, impact measurements, and wear analysis show that a hard-faced layer offers better hardness and wear resistance.
