Abstract
Steatotic liver disease (SLD) is now used as an overarching category encompassing five subcategories: metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), metabolic and alcohol related/associated liver disease (MetALD), alcohol-related/associated liver disease (ALD), SLD with specific etiology, and cryptogenic SLD.
