Abstract

The state of general and mucosal immunity was studied in 103 permanently living and working residents of Apatity town, Murmansk oblast. In examined individuals, a high level of deficiency of active neutrophilic phagocytes in the peripheral blood and on mucous membranes of the pharynx, urinary system, and intestine is established. A high frequency of registration of a deficiency of the sorption capacity of epitheliocytes and levels of secretory immunoglobulins A are detected. An increase in the concentration of pathogenic microorganisms on mucous membranes of the pharynx and urinary system and a deficiency of normal microflora on mucous membranes of the intestine are observed. Long life in unfavorable climate conditions is characterized by a high level of deficiency of mature T lymphocytes, T helpers, and T lymphocytes with a transferrin receptor and cells to programmed cell death.
