Abstract

By harnessing the powers of both light and electricity, photoelectrocatalysis could enable challenging redox reactions under extremely mild conditions, and the cover image shows a three-component net-oxidative sulfonocyclization of DABSO leading to sulfono 4-pyrrolin-2-ones with an oxidatively activated radical precursor. The in situ generated DABCO functions as an electron shuttle between the photocatalytic cycle and the reactants. More details are discussed in the article by Liang et al. on pages 491—500.
