Abstract
In this article we describe our journey as Ph.D. students in the 1990s under the guidance of Prof. Michiel Steyaert, in the early days of our professional careers. The world was far less connected than today: The first mobile phones were being introduced, but they used bulky electronics and expensive bipolar technologies. The idea of CMOS RF circuits was considered doubtful (or impossible) by many, making it the ideal topic for an exciting research period with Michiel’s Ph.D. team in the MICAS group at KU Leuven.
