Abstract

Sorption is generally used to reduce water pollution. Many sorbents with different characteristics are commercially available. In pollutant extraction, the selectivity of the sorbent is important. The development of a sorptional extraction process must be based on experimental data. The present article provides isotherms; thermodynamic characteristics of the material obtained using various models; the pH of the zero charge point (pHzcp); and the minimum sorbent dose required for decontamination in accordance with the standards for lakes and rivers used for fishing.
