["Kasomay" can help the children of Casamance].

Abstract

The Kasomay Association was founded in 2011 thanks to the work of a group of volunteers, mainly doctors and health care workers, with different experiences and professionalism. The place of election is the region of Casamance, in the south of Senegal. During missions we visit and treat children free of charge, pay for therapies and fund diagnostic and therapeutic pathways as well as hospitalizations and surgeries when needed. We have also developed a system for the management of health problems in the paediatric population, through which we aim to ensure continuous access to care for acute and chronic diseases and the management of emergencies and surgical interventions. This system was built within the local public health service and involves the collaboration of African health workers working on the territory.
