Abstract
Research evidence continues to suggest that sports bettors carry an elevated risk of alcohol-related problems, with a newly published longitudinal study showing similar trajectories between gambling frequency and alcohol problems. There is even some evidence that problematic drinking levels are more prevalent among sports gamblers than among gamblers who don't wager on sports.
