Abstract
The Cover Feature shows how, as an alternative to externally applied optical identifiers, magnetic supraparticles (SPs) can be used for contactless identification of lithium-ion battery (LIBs) pouch cells by magnetic particle spectroscopy (MPS). Based on the MPS signal response, that is, magnetic fingerprint, different LIBs can be distinguished from each other. Accessible information referring to each cell could then be stored in a digital battery passport and linked to the physically attached marker particles. More information can be found in the Research Article by G. A. Giffin, K. Mandel and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/cssc.202401142).
