Life table analysis showed a significantly (p less than 0.001) less frequent incidence of peritonitis in the group treated with the Y connector system. This study shows that the Y system appears to be effective in reducing the incidence of peritonitis, as compared with the standard technique, in patients on the CAPD programme.
