Abstract

Leaching of trace elements from fly ash dumps to subsoil layer due to the rain water results in contamination of ground water. The ground water pollution due to fly ash deposition on land so occurring was assessed by simulating the disposal site conditions using two lysimeter with two different soils. Leachate was collected and analysed daily to help understand the phenomenon of leaching of fly-ash constituents in the environment.
